Hi there,
I heard some one said "academic research related to CFD has reduced", especially after 2016. For the last year 2021, it has reduce to the HALF level of 2016. It happens so quickly just in 5 years. What happend in this five years? Thanks.

Do you have a link the the numbers for this; how do they define "academic research related to CFD"? I can imagine the number of papers on fundamental CFD lowering (e.g. numerics, etc). But applications are still being published quite a lot (especially since COVID, many people began publishing on aerosol-laden flows).
Probably, I guess many new researchers that may have previously been interested in CFD are now interested in machine learning (would explain the 5 year drop). |
