Hi Foamers,
I want to compare the compressibleInterFoam (cIF) solver and the interFoam (IF) solver using the same parameters, like viscosity and density. cIF uses thermophysical properties, while IF uses transport properties. How can I ensure consistency between the two solvers
Your guidance would be highly appreciated
Thanks

Hello,
I know that it is a little late, but in case you have not managed to solve this, you can try the following.

Keep all the physical properties – like viscosity, density, surface tension etc same for both cases throughout.
Also make sure that you are consistent with the fvSchemes, fvSolutions etc.

My idea is that if you remove compressibility part in compressibleInterFoam, your results from both the solvers should more or less match.

Regarding the compressibility part, I have a suggestion. You can turn on incompressibility for the phases in compressibleInterFoam.
In the thermophysicalProperties.air and thermophysicalProperties.water, change the equationOfState to rhoConst.
Also see here for your reference: https://doc.cfd.direct/openfoam/user...thermophysical

Note that you will also have to change equationOfState in the “mixture” section in the same files.
Take a look at this tutorial for the rhoConst setup for reference: https://github.com/OpenFOAM/OpenFOAM...operties.water

I am not fully sure if this will work for you, but worth trying.

Good luck!
