Hi everyone,


I am a beginner in using OpenFOAM. I am using OpenFOAM-v2206 and waveFoam to solve Numerical Wave Tanks. The tutorial problems in waveFoam solver are working without any error. When I try to change the inlet boundary conditions from zero gradient to waveAlpha and waveVelocity for alpha and U, the following error is observed.


--> FOAM FATAL IO ERROR: (openfoam-2206)
Dictionary entry for patch inlet not found

file: constant/waveProperties at line 17 to 61.

From static Foam::autoPtr<Foam::waveModel> Foam::waveModel::New(const Foam::word&, const Foam::fvMesh&, const Foam:olyPatch&)
in file waveModel/waveModelNew.C at line 61.

FOAM exiting


I am sending the related files.Please help me to sort out this issue.

Hi there,
I am also a beginner with OpenFOAM and currently using version v2012. I encountered exactly the same error when trying to apply waveAlpha and waveVelocity as boundary conditions for alpha and U at the inlet. I have checked things on my side but still haven't figured out the root cause.
