Hi, I am ritu a graduate student in chemical engineering. I am new to openfoam and I am trying to simulate fluidized bed. I have used twophasefoam but I am not sure how to creat alpha file at time t=0. Do i need to write this file? or it will be automaticlly generate once I will make the geometry and specify the patching and phase fraction in each patch.

Hi ritu,

setFields may be the tool you are looking for. Just have a look into e.g. the interFoam damBreak tutorial, that contains a setFieldsDict.
