Hi guys, could anyone explain me in simple words how to run paraview in parallel (either on a single pc or 2-node cluster) please?

Quick answer:

1. The reader being used to open the case/data must support opening said case/data in parallel; otherwise it doesn't work.
   • For example, opening a OpenFOAM case with the internal reader (".foam" extension) should support opening the data in parallel...
2. For opening locally in parallel, you can use the respective option that is somewhere in "Edit" -> "Settings" or "Preferences", I don't recall right now... but this changed between versions of ParaView, so without knowing the specific version you are using...
3. Opening in parallel remotely... it's not easy to explain with simple words, but the idea is that you start a pvserver instance on the remote machine in parallel and then connect from the local ParaView onto the remote instance, then you can control the remote instance from within ParaView as if it was being used locally.
