Hi,
I'm exporting simulation results from Fluent using the format cgns and when I slice the geometry I can see edges inside the pipe (image attached). When I meshed, I divided the geometry in 5 bodies, but I can't understand why Paraview is showing the edges of those bodies. Is there any way to disable this? I already tried different file formats, multiblock inspector and other ideas I had... Thanks |

Hi, interesting, could you please share the geometry or a test case to investigate?
best, Damian |

Hi! I can't share the case file due to confidentiality restrictions. I can say that I am using a curved geometry and to mesh it I divided the geometry in 5 sections (see image attached here). I believe that the edges I see in the cross-sectional slice are because of this division of the geometry. I can also say that this does not occur when I slice the geometry using cfd-post. In paraview however, it always occurs. Maybe I can create a simpler case with the same issue and share it, if it helps. Thanks!

Hello, usually, such lines occurring for interfaces. It depends on how your mesh was created. You could check the "Multiblock Inspector" in ParaView to check the structure of your mesh. Simple O-Grid can be created in few seconds with the Software Salome Meca to simply compare it.

I had already tried using multiblock inspector but it didn't work. There was no option to disable the interfaces. I guess I just need to stop using interfaces. Thanks for the help |

Hello,
I have the same problem. I have created the mesh with ANSYS Workbench, done the computation with Fluent and saved results in Ensight Gold format. The attached picture is a slice (surface representation) in ParaView 5.7. I see the mesh edges too ? Why ? Thanks in advance for your help. Stéphane. |

Hi,
once again the hint with the "Multiblock Inspector". It has been already discussed here. How to hide cell boundaries. Some data would be helpful to investigate it on my machine, if possible. Best, Damian

Hi everybody,
I succeded with another method. Just use the "extract block" filter and select only the volume blocks. Regards, Stéphane. |
