Exporting Data With Paraview

I am transitioning from CFD-post for processing cfd data exported from Fluent. In post, I was able to export data for each node at each time step, but I am unable to figure out how to do this in ParaView.
So, say I had 3 time steps. I could export data in 3 csv files such that each file had X,Y, Z coordinate of the node, then the value I needed, say, velocity and density. At the end of the operation I was able to have: E1.csv E2.csv E3.csv Then I could load each file in matlab, extract the velocities and density (for example) at each node, do some math (calculate kinetic energy, for example) and plot the change as a function of time in matlab. How do I do such a thing in ParaView? I would like to be able to export but it seems I would have to manually load each time step, export, then load the next time step etc. But I have 1400 time steps so this is impractical. Thanks |

As it turns out, someone else asked a similar question that was enjoying a resurgence right next to mine. So I think I have that part figured out. Let me ask a different but related question.
Is there a way to do this kind of processing in Paraview rather than exporting all these files and doing it in matlab? For example, I want to calculate energy dissipation in a flow, given by this equation. As it is now I export pressure, density, velocity at the node to calculate the integrand. Could this be done directly in Paraview? How? |
