Nishant,
One possible explanantion is that qmake is not in your path. Say, for a bash shell your .bash file should have something like this in it: PATH=$PATH:/usr/lib/qt4/bin I believe this is where qt4 is on Fedora 9. I'm not sure though that is your problem. If your path is simply wrong the command 'qmake -v' should return 'Unknown command'. Also, you probably wouldn't have been able to rebuild paraFoam and reader if the path was wrong. Did you do these rebuilds ? |

I am having the same problem with the missing libQtAssistantClient.so.4. I am running RedHat Enterprise, and I have followed the instructions in the http://www.opencfd.co.uk/openfoam/doc/README.html. I did have to modify VTK_USE_RPATH:BOOL=OFF, and then I was successful in building ParaView 3.3 and the OpenFOAM reader.
I am using: qmake -version QMake version 2.01a Using Qt version 4.3.1 in /k/kjmaki/OpenFOAM/ThirdParty/Trolltech/Qt-4.3.1/lib Has anyone else had the problem with the missing libQtAssistantClient.so.4?? Thanks!!!! Kevin |

Dear Kevin,
I had the same problem than Nishant Singh just using paraFoam on 64bit ubuntu. I just do the following stuff to clear the problem today : - I add the /usr/lib/qt4 path in the PATH environnement. (like I see on this post) - I then re-install qt4 (core, gui and sql libs) the Ubuntu way. (paraFoam was asking the qt4-sql lib then). And now, it's working ! Thanks to all !!! peb |

dear all!!
i run the multiRegionHeater tutorial case and want to display the results with paraView 3.3.0 dev. in this case one has to import different regions of the computational domain from a VTK folder (left/rightSolid, heater, top/bottomAir). when opening the case with paraFoam i can import all the regions but cannot display any quantity. the inspector/properties menu of the different regions is empty (blank). For multiRegionHeater.OpenFOAM no physical quantity can be chosen on "Vol Field Status" except for time instance 0 (but even here nothing can be displayed). does anybody have an idea whats going wrong? appreciate any comment! thx in advance! aram |

hello, i have the same problem with Openfoam 1.5. if i call paraFoam, the GUI comes, but in the tutorial the suffix of data are .foam, mine are .OPENFOAM, so the paraFoam can not read the files, then i changed in GUI Openfoam data, the gui crashed out, with the error
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::length_error' what(): basic_string::_S_create Aborted (core dumped) Then i compiled the paraview and PV3FoamReader, after that, there will be an error. 103 Paraview cant be found! has somebody also this error? How can i resolve it? thanks |
