Hello all,

As a beginner of Reef3D, when I was trying to run the SFLOW tutorial case given the user manual (2D linear waves in section 7), the terminal print out stops at "read ctrl" and it seems there is no simulation output. One possible reason for that phenomenon is that some required input variables are not given, but I do not know where the error is.

Attached are the control.txt and ctrl.txt files. I would be rather thankful if you could answer my question.

Thanks in advance.

Geoffrey

Geoffrey,

I am also a novice with the REEF3D software, so please do not consider this an exhaustive answer to your problem, but I notice in looking at your input files that the M 10 input is not consistent between the control.txt and ctrl.txt files. These numbers must be the same, and then you must indicate the same when calling the executable.

However, after making this change myself and running REEF3D, I am experiencing the same issues where the simulation seems to be stalled for some reason.

Hi Geoffrey,
This results from the capital letters in the comments. The program looks for a command sequence as soon as a capital letter is encountered. Removing them will solve the problem.
At some stage it was possible to include capital letters in the comments, but it looks like this not working now.

Also due to a recent change made to the code for the commands B 91, B 93 and B 96, these commands take only 2 inputs in place of three (please have a look at the manual for these)

Yes, I revised the code according to Kamath's advice and the wave generation and propagation seems to be reasonably reproduced now.
