Hi,

Yes REEF3D can be used for water entry problems. The falling object's material property, degree of freedom and geometry can be defined using X * commands, see the user manual. For example, X 10 1 turns on 6DOF algorithms, the initial degree of freedom can be defined using X 11, material destiny by X 21, and a falling wedge can be defined using X 163.
