Transient/Lagrange multi-phase/with atomisation A hexahedron,with a nozzle in the center of it. C12H26 with chemical reaction.
all the boundary conditions are WALL. But in the computing process,there is a waring :"ProDro is activated but not used " then no C12H26 appears in the hexahedron. PS:my nozzle parameters are here:0.001m 1g/s(flow mass) 700000parcels/s I dont know how to solve this problem,cud somebody help me? Thank you! |

1)Have you set up your injector position correctly? You have to set local cylindrical coordinate system appropriately so that the spray shall be along Z axis into your computation domain. 2)Check your Droplet Physical Models, Droplet Properties. In Droplet Properties you have to check "Subroutine Usage" for all the properties, and select "Evaporates to Scalar" C12H26, then apply. Then go to File->System Command, then type "ufiles". It will create "ufile" folder in your directory. Then go to "Utility"->User Subroutines, you will get all user subroutine list available in Star-CD. You copy DROPRO and FULPRO into your ufile folder.

Thank you usker When I do as your suggestion, It warns me that there are no files called F77. I dont know how to install Fortran correctly. Cud you tell me where to place Fortran complier and how to config it?
thank you |

Another question: In post-processor,I can plot all particles,and they were all sprayed out ,BUT No C12H26 are found in domain.(Scalar plot) Why? thx!

OK then you install fortran. Go to My Computer->Properties->Advanced->Environment Variables. In user variables type ABSOFT C:\Absoft80(if you use Fortran 8), or C:\Absoft90(if you use Fortran 9). Then in system variables type INCLUDE C:\Absoft80\FINCLUDE; LIB C:\Absoft80\LIB; PATH C:\Absoft80\BIN;

You need Fortran if you want to use subroutines. You can avoid using subroutines but your results will not be realistic, I mean they will not match the experimental results. Therefore, after discussing several times whis matter with CD-Adapco experts, I was convinced to use subroutines. And I can tell you that now I can fairly compare the results from simulation and experiments. Moreover you can make your own subroutine that takes into account all the conditions relevant to your model.
Well, regarding the sprayed particles, assuming that you have done everything correctly... in Plot Droplets/Particle Tracks->Droplet Radius->Diameter, try to increase the size. |

yep,but you may misunderstand my situation. I did see the particles.But C12H26 does not exist in the domain. I dont know how to solve my problems could you give me some advice? (I do not use subroutines) thank you usker
