My question is: on web tutorial for DFBI ship motion, the simulation was set as LAMINAR...but for me it isn't correct!! If i want the real motion (sink and trim) of the boat, I need to calculate the realhydrodynamics forces , so the simulation necessary must be set to TURBULENT! And with turbulent model, is more difficult to make convergence of case! It's wrong?? |

yep, you can not do that with turbolence, a pernos name axmantinetzan has the .sim file..... if you change teh laminar to turbo you can not convergence.... this is a problem of the solver

I have run turbulent dfbi without a problem (although not on this case)

Really??
What type of setting you impose?? k-epsilon?? Have you tested a ship hull? Is match with experimental data?? |
