Hello, I'm a mechanical engineering undergraduate university student.
My team and I have been tasked with coming up with simulations for our school's Formula SAE race team. The bad part is that we have had about a month of time to get hands-on with Star-CCM+. I believe we have meshed everything correctly, and set up all the things required to the best of our knowledge, but every time we run the simulation the residuals spike up around the tenth iteration, and the application gives us a floating point error with unknown source. Any help would be greatly appreciated and the file below is the settings summary. http://rapidshare.com/files/309067254/Settings.doc.html Thanks in advance, Linal |

Hello Linal,
you may want to check a couple of things before you start. Check for Invalid cells and remove them accordingly. Also check which equation starts to blow up first. This will give you some idea too. If the turbulence equations start blowing, check to see if you have activated the 'Cell Quality Remediation' in your physics. |
