Thin Mesher with curvature

Hello guys!


My goal is to simulate CHT through two adjoining solid walls. Compared to the fluid domain those walls are quite thin --> thin mesher


Now, in the final geometry there is curvature involved. I struggle a lot bacause of this, see attached pictures.


Without the curvature there is no problem at all. I`m using the latest StarCCM+ version.

You should really build a directed mesh for this, it will give you the best results.


If you wish you continue unstructured, the thin mesher can be finicky sometimes. Generally speaking I use a part control to manually specify the thin mesher settings, even if they're the same as the defaults (this forces the mesher to believe the part is thin).

There is also an advanced option to change a maximum face size ratio which may help. It does seem odd to me that it's not making the whole thing thin.
