If you understand how CFD analysis works, then all you need is the tutorials available with the code. That will show you mostly how to get around Star-CCM+. If you're looking to learn how to do CFD analysis, you won't learn that from any commercial training programs.

But to familiarize with the software won't i need to practice on it? I have a working knowledge of cfd (both coding and software)...i need this training/certification/experience on ccm+ for employment purposes....if i can get my hands on the software itself then it'd be awesome...as I'll just go through the tutorials and master it myself....but i am having a hard time finding a free/educational version of it....the thing is i don't want to waste much time in hunting....so i thought of this approach....what do you suggest?

As far as I know, CD-Adapco does not offer "certification" for Star-CCM+. CD-Adapco might still offer the gap program: http://www.cd-adapco.com/blog/tammy-...ront-job-queue. You need to contact CD-Adapco to see if this is still possible.

The only low cost version of it that I know if is under that program. Is there any other CFD program you could look into? Why not try and learn how to use OpenFoam? That might be really useful for a company not looking to buy a license to Star-CCM+.

True...but there are lot of positions with star ccm+ rite now (don't know why)....but i guess i'll have to look into openFoam at some point too...what really matters for employment is the tools rather than fundamentals....hence the desperation

Hi Virendra
CD-adapco conducts a basic free 3 day training for CCM+ every month in their local office. If you are interested in that, you should approach the Pune/Bangalore office of CD-adapco. They also provide a certificate for this training. I myself took this training while I was in university. |

It should be fine to contact the local support (support-in@cd-adapco.com). They guide you to the responsible person.
