Lucas Le Corvec is on a distinguished road
Hi !

I am currently facing some difficulties to set the right boundary conditions on my porous burner and i would like your opinion on it.

There are three bodies :

1) The porous burner
with 3 surfaces (inlet, outlet, edge)

2) A flame area zone which is the main zone i want to study (this zone is "inside" the computational domain)
with 3 surfaces too (inlet, outlet, edge)

3) The computational domain
with 5 surfaces (edge around flame area zone, flame area zone outlet, wall edge, outlet and wall bottom)

The geometry looks like this 90PART_Second_Refinenement_Geometry FULL.jpg (I made only a 90*degree geometry in order to save some computational time since it is axisymmetric)

My current boundaries are :

Porous burner :

Inlet : velocity inlet (with mixture)
Edge : wall (convective)
Outlet : flow-spit outlet

Flame Area Zone :

All : velocity inlet (with a velocity of 0 m/s, i don't know why but it works better than stagnation inlet)

Computational domain :

Edge around flame area zone : velocity inlet (with a velocity of 0 m/s)
Flame area zone outlet : velocity inlet (with a velocity of 0 m/s)\
Fluid domain outlet : pressure outlet
Fluid domain wall : stagnation inlet
Fluid domain wall bottom : velocity inlet (with a velocity of 0 m/s)

I have created interfaces also :

1) Porous baffle interface between porous burner and flame area zone
2) 2 Internal interfaces between flame area zone and computational domain (one around the flame area zone and one at its outlet)

I am a little bit lost about all these boundaries and i don't know exactly which one is the most suitable for each part and that is why i would like your help

Thank you
