Hi all,
I have recently been running a fluid flow through packed DEM bed, looking at the pressure drop across the pebble bed. The simulation was running well, and I was getting a relatively constant pressure drop across the pebble bed. Unfortunately StarCCM+ crashed due to a cluster communication error. I restarted the simulation and noticed that it is now running on a different node on the cluster than before. I am now getting larger fluctuations in my pressure, and my residuals all jumped up higher. The only thing that has changed from when it was running earlier in the day was that it is now running on a different node on the same cluster (node is the same model as previous). Has anyone ever noticed something similar happen? I am thinking it may have something to do with the way the DEM particle are assigned to particular cores within a node. Anyway not really a question, more just seeing if anyone has ever experienced this or something similar in the past. Cheers. |
