Hi All
I am using Starccm+ transient analysis, I dint save before simulation any Solution Histories. So I am currently just saving each 1000 time step results like Case1@1e-2.sim, Case1@2e-2.sim etc like physical time. So I have the transient results like this and each case is 40GB so it takes time to load and hence I am looking for a suggestion how to post process these transient results. I also want the Instantaneous and averaged results and also animation of the contour plots. SO could someone suggest how to do it effectively and efficiently ? Thanks in advance. |

It will take regardless of your approach. The problem is that commercial softwares usually save the data in ascii format and that will take time to load. If you can try to save them in binary. I always use python and Fortran for postpricessing. Both are quite effective !!!

For animation of contour plot you should have saved the required scene using update feature with trigger point as few time steps.

Just from my experience:
The problem with auto-exporting images of your scenes is that you won't be able to change anything afterwards. I auto-export my transient data with .trn- surface files and postprocess them later on in Star again. Maybe not the most effect way but it's at least pretty flexible... |

For animations, your best bet is to export out images of your representative scenes at the desired time steps. Then use a software like blender to make the videos after the fact. Also, I recommend doing some basic testing first to make sure all of your post processing features work first. |

Only if you have setup the reports/monitors and associated plots before you ran the simulation. Or are using the simulation history files.
