Hi guys,

only a short question, maybe someone can help me. I am using Vof and try to replace the temperature for Volume Fraction of Air = 1 every timestep. Is that possible and when yes how? Thanks.

Hello Mike,

Yes, is possible. I know two ways. You can specify the temperature as a field fuction of timestep or as a table with two columns, one temperature and the other time step and use the timestep interpolation method.
I hope it helps.

Thank you for your reply. I already have a field function for the new temperature. There is already a field function defined for the temperature of the model. How can I set a new Temperature Field every timestep?

Hello Mike,

Sorry for the late answer but I was off the grid for the past weeks.
Did you solved your issue? If not I can try to help you on this topic.

if you want to change the temperature on a boundary then apply your temperature field function at the boundary

if you want to change the temperature within all the air then you do this using a volume source and there is a great steve support article to advise on this concept but I cant remember the article other than if you search for 'monkey' you will find it since the found article shows how to set local momentum values using sources

Hi guys,

thanks for your reply. I think I have found a solution. But I have a second question. Is it possible in CCM+ to use a mass source in a vof based model?

thanks

Thats true, but i can not find it in the model tree. In the user guide it is written, that in every flow region mass source can be activated
