Hey everyone!
I'm new on Starccm, and I have some difficulties in running my simulation, I would like some help and wisdom. I'm currently running a 3D simulation (Steady-state right now) on a micro-particle in a star shape (~20um Diameter; ~2um height; Mesh base size 1um) that rotates in a liquid media. I'm trying to simulate the flow field (I want to measure Drag and Lift force). To make my life easier, instead of rotating the particle I force a tangential velocity on the walls of the volume. Note that I don't have inlet/outlet only walls (the particle rotate in this media) https://ibb.co/G36rhGz https://ibb.co/ZzhSWLq I have two problems right now - 1. I get an error message each time I try to run the simulation. https://pasteboard.co/J9XQzWN.png 2. I can't create a force report one the particle. https://ibb.co/bJTPHD8 I tried to play with different meshes and couldn't solve it. I hope you can share some of your knowledge, Thanks! Note, For some reason, I couldn't upload my images to the post so its written as a links. Last edited by DanielStar; May 25, 2020 at 02:10. Reason: Donesn't show the images |

Looks like your physics is poorly defined using the FE solver rather than FV for the cells types you have generated. Force will become available when you have appropriate physics

Thanks. I figure out what was my problems. First, in the physics model, I chose the "viscous flow", instead of "segregated flow" (I don't know why you can't calculate the lift force in viscous flow, but it solved the problem). Second, when I imported my geometry from solid, I left a curve with the 3D geometry inside the imported file. Therefore the simulation couldn't run on 3D that contains a 1D model. Solved. |
