Hi everyone,
I initiated a mesh generation using Star-ccm+. The mesh generation keeps running forever and never completes. I believe the expected element count should not be that colossal. Because, I have generated meshes of above 250 million cells in the past. So, I have an idea of how long it could take. I am generating the mesh on 1024 processes CPU. Each core with 32GB RAM. The output is as below before the mesh generation suspends (or keeps running forever): Executing Mesh Operation Prop fluid mesh ---------------------------------------- Checking mesh-CAD association...done. Found 8 problems, all fixed. ---------------------------------------- Preparing surface for surface meshing in Parts: ---------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------- finished preparing surface for surface meshing CPU Time: 0.26, Wall Time: 0.26, Memory: 3055.22 MB I will appreciate if someone could help me with how to fix this. Or has anyone encountered similar problem? |

How do you know your mesh is not too big? Have you tried making it very coarse?
