I am trying to extract internal volume using STAR CCM+ but am not able to, every time I try to extract the fluid the whole body is converted to fluid. I am following the same procedure as in the video tutorials of Simcenter, in the video they get the volume, but I am not able to (I am copying the exact same process). I will mention it here
1. Import the geometry from File<Import<Import surface mesh 2. I have a Parasolid binary file 3. As the surfaces are grouped in one node, I split by patch and rename the faces that need to be capped for volume extraction. 4. (Till here everything seems file) Geometry<Operation<New<Surface preparation<Fill holes 5. In Fill holes I select the Input part as the whole exhaust system and End Surfaces as the surfaces that need to be capped. Note: I see the fill holes operation successfully executed I tried using the end curves, but it did not seem to work also. 6. I try to extract the volume this time Geometry<Operation<New<Surface preparation<Extract Volume a. I select Input parts as the CAD and the Fill holes part which is generated. WHEN I USE 3D-CAD TO EXTRACT THE VOLUME IT WORKS JUST FINE
