Hello,
I am planning on doing CFD calculations on AWS but I have a question. I understand you need a GPU for the visual post-pro. However, if I am running in batch mode is there still rendering to be made? is that made on the background? the question is: If I launch a simulation in batch mode that has simulations operations that include generating pictures of scalars and so on and I run that in an AWS instace with no GPU. Will that work? Will it be rendered on CPU (slower) or what exactly. Thanks |

ok, I got the answer.
from here: User Guide > Home > Getting Started > Rendering Graphics Locally and Remotely "When the machine on which rendering occurs has dedicated graphics hardware available, Simcenter STAR-CCM+ uses the hardware by default. If multiple graphics cards are available, you can choose which one is used. If no graphics hardware exists, Simcenter STAR-CCM+ uses one of two Mesa graphics libraries for software-based rendering." I leave it here in case anybody needs it. |
