Hello everyone,
I am running simulations on Star CMM+ on a few different aerofoils. I have attached a file showing the poly mesh I have, can anyone tell me what is going on with the mesh immediately around the aerofoil and if so why? Thanks in advance, cfdlboro |

That's a miracle! I've never seen somebody being able to create a mesh like this!
Okay, let's stay serious. What about your other airfoils? Does it alway look like this? Is this view a cutting plane or the view on a boundary? What about prism layers, do you have some? I'm not sure due to the missing information, but when your view shows a wall with prism layers, the mesher will have some problems on the concave edge between this wall and the airfoil boundary. Try switching the wall to a symmetry plane and check the mesh again. It might give you better results anyway, as most airfoils doesn't have a perpendicular wall directly attached (except a plane fuselage). |

Can you give a picture of the mesh a bit closer to one of the "tumors"?
Is this a cutplane or a boundary you are showing? I have found little graphical hiccups like those spots on volume mesh cutplanes, but they are usually not that...consistent around the boundaries. |
