carburized steel plate

Hi,
I want to design a steel plate with varying properties on both sides i.e one side is carburized having higher hardness or tensile strength than other upto suppose 1mm in 10mm thick plate. Can anyone give me any idea of how to select material properties for this sort of problem? |
