destroy is on a distinguished road
Hi everyone,

I am trying to simulate 2.5D fluid-structure interaction problem of aortic valve blood flow. So I have got the flow past two halves of leaflets (picture below):

And, I want to create a 2D analysis - using the longitudinal section across the middle of the aorta.
In order to create 2D FSI analysis, I have to use 2.5D geometry - one element (cell) thick.

The hesitancy appears on the structural field (ANSYS Transient Structural application).
The valve movement depends among others on the young modulus, poisson ratio and the valve mass. The last one depends on the materal density and the volume, which depends on the THICKNESS of the extruded elements in the normal direction. So - how should I calculate the appropriate thickness? Should I create as thick extrude, as the mass will be equal to the 3D model? Or - maybe there are some misunderstandings in my reasoning and it does not matter?
