Modelling of Non-classical damping in ANSYS

Hi everyone,
I hope everyone is well, I am creating a finite element model of a cantilever beam with the ultimate goal of finding the modal characteristics of the beam, i.e.(Modal frequencies, damping ratio, and mode shapes). However, this beam has been successfully modelled using the undamped model. I want to extend it to a damped model to simulate complex mode shapes. To do this, I want to add dampers at any vertical DOF so that the orthogonality of modes won't be preserved, and then I will get complex modes of vibration. This step I can't do, the magnitude of the damper I want to add is 1 KNs.M-1 |
