faizan is on a distinguished road
Hello everyone,

I am trying to simulate deformation of multiple particle impact through ABAQUS Explicit Dynamics. I am having issue related to general contact interaction. I am using Pure Lagrangian Method. When I tried to to model multiple particles deposition onto a substrate. I am using the cohesive behaviour with damage evolution. When I am doing the general contact interaction for 500 particles, the Individual property assignment is generating large amount of items: 125250. I am also getting errors when submitting the job

"WARNING: There are 4 warning messages in the data (.dat) file. Please check the data file for possible errors in the input file.
ERROR: The number of data lines under *CONTACT INCLUSION or CONTACT
EXCLUSION is too large. Please try to merge the pairs."

I am creating layering in the column to define which layer will be interacting progressively.

If I follow the same principle with 100 particles to 150 particles the job is completed successfully but not for 500 particles.

Apparently I can't use contact pairs when implementing the Cohesive behaviour.

I would like to know if there is any solution to this problem. Appreciate any assistance.

Regards,

Faizan
