Hi everyone,

I am using SU2-4.2.0 version and I am getting the following invalid option error when I try to run Onera M6 test case as suggested in the test guides in su2 github page.

OPT_BOUND_UPPER: Invalid Option name. Check current SU2 options in config_template.cfg
OPT_BOUND_LOWER: Invalid Option name. Check current SU2 options in config_template.cfg

However the option names are the same in the config_template.cfg file. Can anyone help me with this problem

Thank you in advance,
Suraj.

Thanks for your question.
First, check that these options only exist once in the config file, if they are listed more than once that will cause a problem.

Second, check that you are not using an older installation. This option changed name and format a while back, and if you have previously installed an older version you may still have the executable somewhere - to troubleshoot, check the output of 'which SU2_CFD', check your PATH variables, make sure that you ran 'make install' and not just 'make' (which would compile the code but not place the final executables in the specified bin/), and/or remove old versions.

Thanks for the reply.

The options mentioned are used only once in the configuration file. I have checked to see if there are any older versions of Su2 installed, there aren't any. However while installing su2 I first installed it without any prefix and then specified a prefix path and installed again by make and make install commands and then copied the necessary variables in to the bash file. But when I check output of which SU2_CFD it is showing /usr/local/bin/SU2 which is not the prefix path I gave the second time. I tried uninstalling and installing again but it is only removing the 2nd installed version (which is also 4.2.0)
