I am running SU2 version 5 (Raven). I don't see the TNE2 solver in the code nor the plasma Argon testcase in the TestCases/. Does it mean SU2 no longer support multi-species reacting analysis anymore?
brkorkut and navierstokes like this.

Unfortunately, that is correct,

The SU2 community tries to keep only the well maintained source code. If you are interested in the TNE2, we can help you to lead the implementation and validation.

Best,
Francisco

thanks for the response. Implementing a new non-equilibrium solver is a big task and perhaps unnecessary because TNE2 should have most of the pieces needed for reacting flows. Rather, I would recommend making the previous version of TNE2 to work properly. Is here any paper/reports written to document all the problems/issues related to TNE2? I have never used SU2 but TNE2 appears to have the ingredients needed for high speed reacting flows. If the previous version of TNE2 still available perhaps I can try exercising it and see if I can figure out what the issues are.

Thanks for your interest,

Unfortunately to update TNE2 is a real PhD thesis like task.

The latest working version of the software is in

https://github.com/su2code/SU2/tree/feature_AdjTNE2

in

https://github.com/su2code/SU2/tree/...ases/tne2/ramc

There is an config file that should work and the mesh should in TestCases

https://github.com/su2code/TestCases

but an old version from ~2014. If you are familiar with GitHub, just search for a commit close to the latest update of the

https://github.com/su2code/SU2/tree/feature_AdjTNE2

branch

These are related articles to the implementation

after reading the abstracts of the 3 AIAA paper and the related source code on TNE2 I concluded that the code is most suitable for hypersonic inviscid reacting external flows. As such it would not be applicable to internal, turbulent reacting analysis of which I am currently interested. This ends my effort of trying to use SU2 for such applications. Thank you for your help.
