stevosg99 is on a distinguished road
I am using SU2 to simulate an air cannon. The attached .png shows the pointwise (half-model) mesh, with a high pressure reservoir on the left and a low pressure barrel on the right. The idea is to find at what pressure the reservoir and barrel need to be to break a piece of mylar film at the end of the barrel at the appropriate time.
Currently, I am under the impression that this is a good application for the Multizone features of SU2. Thus, I have the initial conditions of the reservoir set to 25 psi and the barrel to 1.5 psi, each with the corresponding change in temperature and density. The challenge I am running into is defining the boundary between the two zones. I am using MARKER_FLUID_INTERFACE= to define where the interface is, however, as individual zones, I do not know what boundary condition to assign at the interface such that they start with the proper condition, but they will change as the simulation begins. I have tried almost every boundary condition I can find in SU2 documentation, and nothing seems to be working as I would hope.
Any insight into what boundary conditions to apply or a different approach that would alleviate my problem is appreciated.
Thanks
