Hello,
I am trying to specify a model of heat exchange inside a bee hive. - Background: bees are attacked by a mite called varroa, which kills the colony for a couple of years. That is why it is necessary to treat with chemicals every year. There are studies that show that a rise in temperature inside the hive from 35ºC (which is normal) to 42ºC kills the varroas, without harming the bees. - My project: I am a biologist, I have computer or electronic knowledge. I want to specify a model of hot air circulation to get that rise for an hour, more or less. - Enclosure: the enclosure (46.5x38x31cm) is filled with 10 parallel sheets (wax combs) about 27mm wide, and free spaces between them of 10mm - Heat source: I will use two heat sources based on PTC + fan of 100W 12V each, with two temperature controllers adjusted to 42ºC - Doubts: what is good for me: insert hot air from below and extract from above, or vice versa? I appreciate any help |
