thanks very much. I am grateful. If you could respond to my other queries regarding body suppressions and FSI at some other time convenient to you, it would be a big help

Thanks again
Regards

Hi Josef

I have come across an issue in my tee geometry. I tried to sweep mesh it but it is not working. One of the colleagues have advised me if I can remove the sharp edges, I can get it sweep meshed. The joint is at intersection. I have seen fillet command which can fillet out lines but how can I fillet surfaces or faces in design modeler.

Regards

Dear Josef,

I have a question. In my geometry, I have to place simply supported supports on vertices which I can get from circle edges. If I draw individual circles and extrude as different bodies and get an edge on it by face split, controlling Mesh becomes a problem (fig 2) as my mesh is going to be biased. It will be smallest at elbow joint and growing towards the end edge of cylinder whereas on two different edges, maintaining the same bias level is impossible as my geometry is going to have at least 6 million cells . If I can have one body, meshing becomes easy but I do not get circular sketches. In fig 1, I have created a blue circle sketch where you can see the axis but I cannnot make it part of the body. Is there a special command for making a 2D sketch to be part of a 3D surface or body on a mid surface. I created a thin cylinder and got a mid-surface and now I am trying to get circle edges which can be part of the surface and still body and faces can stay as 1, i.e. they do not get divided. Kindly advise.

Regards

Folks,

I am trying to generate hex mesh in a 90 degree pipe bend. I have attached a screen shot of the geometry.

But when I using the blocking methodology, its always giving me an error saying "O-grid not successful". Can anyone advice me on this!

Thanks in advance for your time

JT

if you are using ICEM in ansys, I cannot help. In Meshing, it is easy, just mesh the geometry using "Automatic method" and select number of divisions and that should do.

Regards
