sir will u more elaborate ur last reply thai first create fluid region step by step. and this attachment tells u i am create this geometry that is volume 1,2,3,4 but sir i have lack of experince to definig the this type of thermal boundary conditions please help me how i decide the diffrent boundary condition and continnum type in gambit so it is read in to fluent correctly |

this is exactly the point: I am not sure you need an interface for solid conduction.

Hi,
You seem quite polite but please don't ask things such as "make for you a complete tutorial" or a "step by step" guide. Do you know how much time is needed to make a detailed step by step tutorial? Coming to your problem: if you want to model also the solid thickness of the pipes draw them as you did in the first pictures. Create the 4 volumes (4 1/4 of pipes): the volumes have to share the same adjacent face. Assign continuum zone types: https://www.sharcnet.ca/Software/Gam...guide/mg04.htm 2 different FLUID zones where the cold and hot fluids flow and 2 different SOLID zones for the thickness of the pipes. Assign boundary conditions: link the periodic faces before meshing and assign them PERIODIC boundary condition, then velocity or pressure inlet/outlet for the cold flow and velocity or pressure inlet/outlet for the hot flow (don't use velocity inlet/outlet); assign WALL boundary conditions for walls. Then mesh the volumes. When the mesh will be imported into fluent shadow walls will be automatically created to enable heat transfer between fluid and solid regions. Daniele
