Hello everyone!

I have trouble generating mesh for a 3D geometry now.

Fig. 1

Fig. 2

Fig. 3

Fig. 4

As shown in the figure above. For this cuboid. I do the body sizing first to the whole geometry(Fig. 1). Then, I do inflation for the whole body along 3 adjacent boundaries to make more small meshes(layers) showing up near the boundary(Fig. 2). Fig. 4 is the ideal cross section along the common edge. I can do it in 2D but I don't know how to do it in 3D

My question is how to make more small meshes near the corner of the adjacent boundaries (I mean the boundaries after the inflation Fig. 3) along their common edge? Or I can only increase more layers near the boundary?

I know how to separate the surface using projection in a 2D geometry. By this way I can generate small meshes along edges. But for 3D, I'm stuck now. I don't need the actual data, only some ideas about how to do that is enough.

If you can share some ideas about this, I would be appreciated.

Thank you so much for the help

RZ

Sizing function with "sphere of influence" at edges mite help you.

Hello! Kapi,

It seems feasible. Maybe I don't know how to use it correctly. So I choose edge sizing and choose the edge. The new problem show up. When I choose"sphere of influence", it needs a sphere center and the only choice is the" Global coordinate system" And then I need to define the sphere radius. And an error information is"Sphere of influence cannot be scoped to edges or faces when advanced size function is activated."(I have already used inflation and body sizing.)

As you can see in the figure above, it is something like a sphere. But I need something more like a column along the edge (which go into the screen)

Thank you for the reply. At least I know something about the sphere of influence now.

If you know how to fix this, please help me. ^_^

As shown in the figure above, I want to choose the region like a 1/4 column(or 1/4 cuboid). And make small meshes in that region.

We can try to do Frozen extrude.(change add material to frozen)__GEOMETRY

And Do Body sizing--Body of influence choose the frozen body and then we can get something shown below

Hope this will help beginners like me
