Hello all
I am trying to simulate flow through a pipe of 7m length and 27.5 mm radius. i am doing axis symmetric simulation in ANSYS. I am achieving some result but for more accurate result my mesh should be fine enough in axial direction. So is there any way in which i can get a finer mesh or if it is possible to simulate tube of 1m and then transferring the result to the next tube and so on. Thanks in advance. Soumya |

What is the software you use in meshing? and attach a photo for the mesh of the pipe please..
Thanks |

I am doing the simulations in fluent and now i am working with uniform meshing. as the tube length is more so the elemental length is also seems to be large. for a 300000 mesh size the element length size is coming to be 1.4 mm each. But i want a micro level, so how can i do that. or is there any way to simulate the whole tube phase wise? I have shown mesh at some part of the tube.Capture.PNG
Thanks |

I got that the simulation is 2D, you can use ICEM CFD for the required refinement, accurate and fast.

Not yet.
Actually in ICEM cfd also for 350000 elements , the element size remains same. Is there any way of doing the simulation in phase wise means if we can do the simulation for 1m tube then that result has to be forwarded to the 2nd tube and so on. subsequently we will get results after 7m tube. Thanks Ahmed |

Have you tried ICEM? I think you can make very fine mesh for the whole tube...By edge sizing..
