Hello everyone,

I am a student who is new to ANSYS and I have been encountering problems with the inflation layer in the meshing found in fluent. I have watched videos and read instructions on how to do boundary layers.

However, I have found difficulty in following instructions since I cannot select a boundary layer shown in the attached picture. Every time click apply nothing happens and it deselects the edges that I selected.

What seems to be the problem here? Thank you for any help

Hey ogini,

For the inflation you have 2 sets of geometry selection.
I guess you have an external flow application.
So you should go and first select the Scope Geometry with your enclosure.
Second you have the boundary geometry which you will select according to the surfaces or edges that you want the inflation.

Hi bpulat,

Thanks for taking time to read my post and helping me out.
Yes I did select a scope geometry which was the flow domain. My problem only occurs when I select the edge for my boundary geometry. Whenever I click apply, it does not select it no matter how many tries I do. I have been stuck to this problem since it does not makes sense to me as well.

Hey again,

I didn't see on my phone yesterday but also in your screenshot you can see there is something wrong with the geometry and i also suggest you to watch https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJuWUrZ1L9o

Hi again,

Thanks for helping me out. Can you point to me what you think is wrong with my geometry? I am new to ANSYS and I very much appreciate your help in this.
