Hi all,

I need to mesh the attached geometry (please see below link to the STL file) as it forms part of a structural analysis I am carrying out. Any suggestions on how to do this as it is a complex geometry? I have cleaned it as much as I can using meshlab tools but when I try and mesh the geometry using ANSYS meshing it fails to do so.

Thanks

Gert-Jan will become famous soon enough
You need to close it completely. Then I would mesh it in ICEM. This is very forgiven for sloppy CAD.
Far likes this.

I recommend to use gmsh. It is license free software, and you can import stl in your mesh. It's basically for FEM, which unstructured grid widely used, but you can generate structured grid and use it in CFD as well. There is bunch of video on youtube help you to do what you want, as well as the user manual in its website.
I hope it would help you
Due to the problem of the website, I could not reply you message.
