Hello,
I have simulated 2D NACA 0018 airfoil with 1m chord length. Reynolds number is 14.26x 10^6. From check mesh option, I got the minimum face area as 4.444515e-04 and minimum volume as 1.794975e-06. Here, I have used spalart allmaras turbulence model. y+ value is taken as 30. Hence, wall spacing value is 0.0000599m. I have two questions: 1. As I have only chord length value. then how fluent is giving face area and volume value? 2. How could I get the value of minimum grid size from Fluent? It is urgent. Please help everyone. |

Long time since I last used Fluent, so no idea if there is a convenient and non-arbitrary way to get a value for minimum linear cell size in the bulk mesh region |

The minimum linear cell size should pretty much be the first layer thickness of your prism layers. If it's not, something probably went wrong. A quick visual inspection of the mesh should be able to spot that.

I think delta y is the distance of the first node from the wall. Kindly see the attached image. |

Well that's how things should be for an airfoil mesh. I can't tell if your mesh looks like that.
And I can't tell if this is what you really want when referring to "minimum grid size" |
