Hi all,
I'm trying to do a 2d parametric sim in designmodeler of an s1223 aerofoil. To do the mesh I am splitting up my domain into sections for size control purposes. However, due to the aerofoil shape, I'm running into some problems. First I tried using a similar method to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzvE...annel=AnthonyT However, due to the camberline, having that horizontal line splitting the aerofoil results in an extra artifact region that seems to screw up my meshing: https://puu.sh/JsXDY/093091d446.png I'm not exactly sure 'why', but I keep getting the error: "One or more faces with map mesh controls failed to be mapped mesh." Changing the soft/hard behaviour gets me to eventually generate a mesh, but with some very bad features: https://puu.sh/JsXGK/662e855b51.png https://puu.sh/JsXGR/c26b06884a.png https://puu.sh/JsXGU/ebb86fb05b.png I came across this website that seems to have a really nice mesh: https://sites.google.com/site/me2652...223/simulation Here, he is missing a vertical line on the right 'two thirds' of the domain, and has no aerofoil split line. When I attempt to do this however, my upper and lower surface 'sections' become one. The trailing edge does not act as a 'split point': https://puu.sh/JsXHd/622e02cb66.png By changing where the vertical line at the trailing edge is they separate, but this then leaves a little triangular artifact which messes up meshing again: https://puu.sh/JsXHm/8e861bd300.png https://puu.sh/JsXHp/97c11f8c13.png Does anyone know how to solve this? I'm losing my mind!! Thankyou! |

I believe I solved it. My imported curve was 1000mm, and I use a whacky scale factor to get it to 12 inches (to match experimental data from a paper). By simply doing a 0.3 scale factor and setting the distance for the cutting lines to 300mm there was no rounding error and now the mesh generates perfectly.
