Hello Fellow CFD users , I'm currently facing a problem , after optimizing my airfoil shape and extracting 2D coordinate points , i want to make an analysis using xflr5, but i have more than 300 points , how can i manage to lower the number of dat apoints while keeping the airfoil shape smooth and fit the original
thanks in advance |

What is the limit?
I would try to load my data into python (or MatLab or a CAD tool, whatever you prefer) and delete points in a regular pattern, for example every 3rd or 5th point will be deleted, until you reach the software limit. Then plot your datas against each other. I assume that the overall shape will be well represented (in an acceptable range) although using fewer points. |
