ANSYS HPC allows 1 additional solver core for each HPC license used.
HPC Packs allow 8 for 1 pack, 32, for 2 packs, 128, for 3 packs.

Contact ANSYS sales directly for more information on the default number of cores for each simulation without any HPC licenses.

We use an older license, and I only get 1 core for CFX, and I need to use 2 HPCs to use 2 cores, 3 HPCs for 3 cores.
I have heard their new licenses use 4 cores default, and I do not know whether you would need 1 HPC to run 5 cores or 5 HPCs for 5 cores.
