Can you confirm me that for an identical structured mesh, is the number of volum control the same with cell-centered finite volume method and node-centered volume method if we don't consider boundaries ?

What is the difference exactly with these two approaches ?

Thank you for your help

No, the number of volumes will not be equal.

The difference is whether the control volume is centred on the element or the node. This is covered in most basic CFD textbooks. They describe it better than I can on a forum, so wander down to your local library.

Ok thank you.

Can you just tell me why did you say that the number of volumes will not equal if we don't consider boundaries because I read exactly the opposite. The number of volume will be different because of boundaries.

I did not see the comment about the boundary. For each internal node in both cases there will be one control volume. So that means the internal control volumes will be the same. But there will be differences in the boundaries.
