Hi everybody,
I would like to simulate a wing enclosed in a sphere in ANSYS CFX. At the moment I set the boundary conditions by entering a primitive region which slices the sphere in a half. Then I assign one half to be an inlet and the other one to be an outlet. However, I need to run simulations fro several angle of attack. At the moment I rotate the sphere for every AoA and try to slice the primitive region at about the same position as for the previous setup. I think this not a very efficient way of doing it. I was wondering if there is an easier way of doing it and/or a more accurate way (because I doubt that I pick always the same position for the primitive regions). Also is the way of assigning the BC correct? Hope someone can help me out! Thank you very much in advance! |

When you start a new simulation it is a really good idea to first go to the library (or google these days) and see what other researchers have done. There are zillions of papers on this sort of stuff so you might as well find out what they used.
The "C" grid is a popular option. That has a curved inlet and a flat outlet. You can then change angle of attack easier. |
