Now l am using CFX to make a model about the submarine landslide, The trapezoid in the lower left part is landslide part(clay), the right part is seawater, now l wannamake the trapezoid part(landslide) collapse and flow.

Q1: How many domains do l need to create in setup? one domain incluing clay and water, or one domain for clay and one domain for seawater?

Q2: How to define the material in the trapezoid doamin? How to make the trapezoid collapse in cfx?

I have not found any tutorials about these, now l have done the examples about free surface flow and flow around a cylinder, but still have no ideal about how to simualte flow for a landslide. Wish someone could help me,thanks million!

Before we look at how to model this we need to understand what you are trying to model.

How are you going to model the landslide?

Do you have a specified region of clay which moves? Where does it move to? Does it stay a constant shape?

Or are you taking into account the deformation of the clay as it moves? Does it entrain into the surrounding water or stay as a big lump of clay?
