MNMK is on a distinguished road
Hi,

I have a problem showing the ISO surface result in a steady-state calculation. As you know, in the steady state calculation, there is just one last Time step, which is not enough to make an animation. I saved some variables in the .cgns format for every Iteration. But I cannot import or add the saved result to time steps like transient calculations. However, it does not work. Is there another possibility?

regards,

You can always save backup files every few iterations and use them to make an animation. But make sure you know what the animation is showing - it is showing the evolution of the simulation towards convergence. It does not show a transient simulation.

Hi ,

Thanks for your Feedback.
Can you tell me how I should import the backup in Post in this case? I tried to import, but this format was not found.

best,

Opaque will become famous soon enough
I am confused. Why are you post-processing Ansys CFX results in CFD-Post using an alternate format?

The Ansys CFX format contains whatever CFD-Post needs. Any other format can only contain the same or LESS. You are taking chances working this way.

Alternate formats are there to be used on alternate post-processors, sometimes with a drop in functionality because not everything is guaranteed to be transferred.
