Hi, I am writing some code to automatise a the analysis of a large number of simulations and I need to get the post processing working. I have a cse script that works fine if I open it into the CFX Post GUI.
I tested it in batch mode on Windows and it worked withouth issues, so I moved to the Linux Linux HPC system, module loaded Ansys and typed cfdpost -batch postprocess.cse results.res For whatever reason things do not work here. I get a lot of ERROR in WriteCommand: Writing command Key ERROR in WriteToken: Writing token key then after two minutes the application times out with error Warning: token %1 was not used in the message: "socketError: Socket::waitForConnection - Connection timeout after 120s"Warning: token %1 was not used in the message: "socketError: Socket::waitForConnection - Connection timeout after 120s" QtServicesInterface timeout on socket - Chart Viewer not responding. signal 11 was caught: SIGSEGV Warning! CFD-Post exited with return code 1 I am not an expert of CFX but I've used it before and done some batch post processing on HPC so that's not new to me. The weird thing is that the same exact script (besides the obvious modification to the files paths) worked on Windows but not on a Linux system. Any help? Thanks! |

I have no idea what the problem is. It could be a bug in CFX.
All I can suggest is to set through the script file one line at a time to try to find the problem line. You can do this by generating script files of different lengths from your current file.

I figured out what the error was. Simply some formatting issue. The text file I had produced on Windows needed a dos2unix command before being used as an input for cfdpost on Linux.

Just a thought - it would have been nice if the error message had said something about unknown EOL characters rather than the very cryptic feedback you appear to have received. Oh well, CFX error messages have always been cryptic.
