Hello to everybody after a while,

I am trying to install ANSYS CFX 13.0 on my windows 7, x64 laptop but I have met the following problems:

When uncompressing the files and then try to make the installation, I get a message that says that the program will be terminated.

When going directly from the zip file, the installation is normal, but when trying to launch CFx I get a message that says something about fatal error, and unicode conversion malfunction. I have deactivated my UAC and installed CFx on both directories, program files and program files(x86)

Has anybody met such difficulty or has any idea about what's going wrong?

ps. I downloaded my software from ansys customer portal,

I would really appreciate any help.

Kind regards

Did you check the MD5 of your download? The portal has the MD5 sums for all downloads so you can check you downloaded it correctly.

I have had dud installations previously from failed downloads which looked OK. The only way to be sure is to check the MD5.

To be honest I do not really know what MD5 is. Could you quite enlighten me? Where can I check this from on the download site?

If you don't know then google it.

MD5 is built in for Linux I think. Here is a windows/DOS implementation of it:
