Hi,
How to use ECFM-3Z for GDI case running under stratified mode?
The manual mentions that the initialize.in, boundary.in a, species.in and Therm.dat have to be modified to include some model specific species. I dont find any example case of ECFM on your download page. Can someone please help?

Hi,

For GDI, ECFM3Z+ISSIM will be an option. We are working on GDI/PFI example cases right now which will take one or two months or so. At this moment, we can help you to setup the case if you are willing to send an inquiry to support@convergecfd.com. Thank you.

i am really looking forward to the ECFM examples. How do they come along?
And, does ECFM have restrictions regarding certain operation points? Like SAGE with the standard reaction mechanism, which is not suitable for low load operation points (e.g. idle, 2000-2bar BMEP)?

Based on our tests, ECFM works well for a wide range of operation points, as long as Ka is small. SAGE should work well as long as mechanism is validate for operating points.

Thanks for the update. I have a ECFM case ready to run, i will check the results and compare to SAGE.

But what do you mean by Ka?

Like the other folks, I also look forward to applying the ecfm-3z model to my
project. But seems a tutorial setup is still not availabel in your download
area?

Thanks

We are working to release more examples soon, including ECFM and ECFM-3Z.
You can email support to get an example immediately.

Hi Tobias,

I am going to use ECFM, too. I also meet some problems, I want to refer to your case, could you please send me your case?
My email: yaopeng.li@energy.lth.se
Thank you very much for your help.

Best
Yaopeng

Hi, Sameera

Can ECFM be coupled with SAGE like G-equation? Do I need to add the SAGE by UDF?
Thank you very much for your answer.

Best regards,
Yaopeng
