I am running multi-cycle LES of a motored SI engine on cluster using Converge and all of my submitted jobs have been crashed during the run with the following error while I receive successfully completed notification of the job from cluster. I have this problem while using fine grid with AMR. How can I fix this?

Many thanks,

Amin

How much is your cell count? And how many cores you are using? Also, can you run this job using coarser grid with and without AMR? Please let me know.

Hello Chaitanya,

I am using base cell size of 2 mm with AMR level 2, and in this case maximum cell count is about 2.5 million. I tried different number of cores, (e.g. 24, 48 and 96) and I had the same problem. I will use finer grid of 1 mm with AMR level 3 for my final case. In addition, I could run the case with coarser grid (3 mm) with AMR and I did not have this error. Thanks for your support.

- Does your simulation crash right away?
- How does your load balancing look? Can you please check cell_count_ranks.out?
- What parallel scale value you are using?
- Do you see any other warnings (e.g. cell pairing, etc)?

Hello Chaitanya,

-The simulation usually crashes at the end of first or second cycle (Piston at BDC). I could not run the case for more than 2 cycles.
-Load balancing looks fine.
-I tried both -1 and -2 scales and I had the same error.
- There is no any other error.

Thanks

Hello all,
I am trying to submit a job to SharcNET where the meshing of my model is 1.5 million, and the model size is 7.4 GB. However, I keep getting this message of error.

Hi,

The message here does not provide too much information, did you check the CONVERGE log to see if the solver provide any further information?

Besides, how many cores are you running this simulation with? Is the load balancing looks fine? And is the simulation crashing immediately after launch?

It will be very helpful if you can share the answers to these questions so that we can identify the issue better. Thank you.
